BookCast

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27 September 2026

BookCast turns books into two-host podcast episodes. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how you can remove it.

Who we are

BookCast is operated from bookcast.app. For any privacy question you can write to support@bookcast.app.

Information we collect

  • Account details. Your email address and, if you add one, a display name. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and name from Google — never your Google password.
  • Books you add. Files you upload (PDF, EPUB or text), the text extracted from them, and the title, author and language of books you pick from the public-domain catalogue.
  • Episodes you create. The generated script, audio, cover image and your chosen voices, language, tone and length.
  • Plan and usage records. Your plan, remaining episodes, purchase records and a history of episode credits.
  • Technical information. Basic logs needed to keep the service running and secure, such as error reports.

We do not read your personal email or SMS messages, we do not collect your location, contacts, photos or health data, and we do not use advertising or tracking profiles.

How we use your information

  • • To create your account and let you sign in.
  • • To read your book and produce the podcast episode you asked for.
  • • To store your library so you can listen again later.
  • • To apply your plan and keep track of remaining episodes.
  • • To answer support requests and keep the service secure.

We never sell your information, and we never share it with advertisers or data brokers.

Service providers

To run BookCast we use a small number of trusted providers: a hosting and database provider that stores your account, books and episodes; and AI providers that write the script and generate the voices. Book text is sent to these AI providers only to produce your episode. Payment processing, where applicable, is handled by the payment provider — we never see or store your full card number.

Security

All data travels over encrypted HTTPS connections. Uploaded files and generated audio are kept in private storage that only your account can access, protected by row-level security rules on our database.

How long we keep things

Your books and episodes stay in your library until you delete them or delete your account. You can delete an individual episode at any time from the app.

Deleting your account and data

You can permanently delete your account and everything attached to it from the Account page in the app, or by emailing support@bookcast.app. Full instructions are on our account deletion page.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to support@bookcast.app and we will respond within 30 days.

Children

BookCast is not intended for children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we make meaningful changes we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, let you know inside the app.
